Wendy is a 1992 graduate of the Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and completed a family nurse practitioner post-master’s program in 1995. She is an adult and family nurse practitioner and the owner of two nurse practitioner owned and operated clinics within New Hampshire.
She is the founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. She has been a medical media spokesperson for numerous companies and has appeared on radio, television, and in print magazines. Wendy is frequently consulted by malpractice attorneys around the area of clinical practice and has worked on more than 100 malpractice cases involving nurses and nurse practitioners. She is the Past President of NPACE and the Senior lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates.
Sheri Carson is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 22 years’ experience in pediatrics. Dr. Carson currently works as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Arizona and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Northwest Urgent Care in Tucson, AZ. She has worked in a variety of pediatric settings throughout her career, including private practice, a military clinic, urgent care, and a school health care program for uninsured children. She also served as Nursing Director at a prestigious year-round medical camp for children with chronic and life-threatening illness.
In 2012, Dr. Carson joined her city’s Child Abuse Review and Education Committee, which ignited her passion for preventing, recognizing, and treating child physical abuse. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Carson developed and implemented an evidence-based, comprehensive child physical abuse screening program in a local emergency department. She published the results of her project in the Journal of Emergency Nursing and is engaged in consulting with hospitals across the country to help them create and implement their own child abuse screening programs. Dr. Carson has spoken at several local, state, and national conferences regarding screening for child physical abuse and is advocating for health policy mandating child physical abuse screening in all emergency departments. In recognition of her efforts, Dr. Carson was named the 2018 Pediatric Nurse Practitioner of the Year by the Arizona Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and awarded the 2020 Alex Stuetze Pediatric Nursing Memorial Award by the Tucson Nurses’ Week Foundation.
Dr. Nancy Denke holds a bachelors’ degree from the Pennsylvania State University. She graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a MSN as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Certificate Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She also earned an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate from St. Louis University. Her terminal degree was from Arizona State University (ASU) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) where she is also a faculty member in the DNP program. Currently, she is a practicing Nurse Practitioner with Toxicology Consultants of Arizona. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Nursing.
Nancy enjoys the opportunities to contribute to the clinical training of Nurse Practitioners and RN students, as well as participating as a mentor for active-duty Air Force RN’s in the Critical Care/Emergency Trauma Nurse Fellowship Program at HonorHealth.
She is a nationally recognized speaker who is dedicated to empowering primary care, critical care, and emergency nurses and nurse practitioners in their practice. Her reputation is well deserved for her ability to make nursing education applicable and practical. Her goal is to increase knowledge, expand understanding, refine skills, enhance practice performance, and improve the health status of patients. She also has numerous publications related to these subjects.
John Ekman is a Psychiatric Nurse practitioner currently practicing at a Community Mental Health agency in Safford, AZ where he evaluates and treats clients ages 16 and up. He is also a contracted Provider for a crisis center in Maricopa County and much of his work is conducted via telemedicine. Prior to his work in psychiatry, John worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a community medical center with a subspecialty in pain management.
He received his ADN from Eastern Arizona College, a BS in Psychology from the University of LaVerne, and his MSN and FNP from University of Phoenix. He received his Post Masters Certification and license in Psychiatric/Mental Health from the University of Arizona. John is currently attending NAU in the DNP program.
John has also served in the Military where he was a Navy Corpsman for 10 yrs and then as a commissioned officer in the US Air Force Nurse Corps and retired with the rank of Captain. He is married with 5 kids and 5 grandkids. In his free time he enjoys being outdoors in his jeep, traveling with his wife, and watching movies.
Jenice Guzman-Clark, PhD, GNP-BC is a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner in the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, Home Telehealth Program. She received her educational degrees from UCLA School of Nursing and has 20+ years of experience working with older adults. She is the Clinical Nurse Advisor for Geriatrics and Extended Care/Gerontological Nursing in the Office of Nursing Services (ONS) in VA Central Office and represents ONS on a variety of national committees and work groups related to care of older Veterans. She is also a Nurse Scientist whose focus is on adherence to the use of home telehealth technologies in Veterans with heart failure and is a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association.
Dr. Golden is the past president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is a current fellow of AANP and the Obesity Medicine Association. She owns NP Obesity Treatment Clinic in Flagstaff, AZ, where she provides evidence-based obesity treatment. She earned OMAs NP/PA Certificate of Advanced Clinical Education and the Specialist Certification of Obesity Professional Education, an internationally recognized certification.
Dr. Golden has a great deal of experience as a consultant in the development of patient education materials, has authored a book, Treating Obesity in Primary Care, several book chapters on obesity management, written several peer reviewed articles, participated in research, and been interviewed by lay media on obesity treatment. She presents nationally and
internationally with an emphasis on obesity, health policy, leadership and clinical care.
Heather Clark has been a Registered Nurse since 1980, and has worked in hospitals and clinics for nearly 40 years. Heather began teaching nursing students in 2008 and is an Associate Clinical Professor for Northern Arizona University-Yuma Campus. Heather completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice from NAU in May of 2019, graduating with Distinction. Her Practice Improvement Project focused on palliative care recognition, through the use of an assessment tool created in Edinburgh, Scotland. Heather has presented her findings from this project to Family Practice resident physicians at Yuma Regional Medical Center, and presented a poster for the Arizona Nurses’ Association conference in September of 2019. Heather is an active member of the American Nurses’ Association (AZNA) as well as currently serving as the secretary for Chapter 7. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Heather is passionate about educating student nurses and preparing them to practice as competent, capable, and confident Registered Nurses. She is also passionate about palliative care and bringing greater knowledge and training to practitioners on the recognition and utilization of palliative care to enhance symptom management and quality of life. Julie Angileri is a double board certified nurse practitioner in family medicine and mental health and has additional training in integrative medicine. She has been in the healthcare industry since 2000, and fell in love with medicine in high school. She currently has a behavioral health practice and specializes in geropsych and adult ADHD.
Conrad Cordova started off his career in health care working EMS & Fire Suppression with Drexel Heights Fire Department in the mid 80’s. He completed Paramedic school in 1990 through Pima Community College. He left the fire service and went to work at St. Mary’s Hospital while earning his Associates Degree in Nursing through Pima Community College, and eventually earned his Bachelor’s degree. Conrad worked at St. Mary’s hospital as an RN for about 20 years. His experience includes ER, Critical Care, Cardiac Cath Lab, & Flight Nursing.
Conrad served 23 years in the Arizona Air National Guard, 162nd Wing. After he enlisted, his first role was as a Crash-Rescue Firefighter. While he was in nursing school, he recognized an opportunity to get commissioned after graduation so he transferred to the Medical Group & cross-trained into a medic position. After he obtained his nursing degree & RN, he was commissioned as an officer in the USAF Nurse Corps. Conrad served one tour in Baghdad, Iraq in 2007. He retired at the rank of Captain in 2008.
In 2016, Conrad completed his Master Degree in Nursing & became Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He worked at El Rio Community Health Center & now works for CareMore. He manages patients in ALFs, LTC, & Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Conrad Cordova is married, with three children. His hobbies are photography & cooking. His favorite thing to do is spend time with family.
Sharon Morgan is dual certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with the CMG Structural Heart care team. She has worked in cardiology since 2010. She is nationally certified in hypertension.
Sharon was inducted as an Associate of the American College of Cardiology in 2018. She has presented lectures on various cardiology topics at Southern Arizona Advance Practice Nurse Association, Sarver Heart Center, AZ Cardiovascular Team associated with American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association, and Arizona Nurse Association conferences. She was appointed as APRN Liaison for the Arizona State Board of Nursing. She is adjunct faculty for Nurse Practitioner Programs.
Sharon is a professional member of American College of Cardiology, American Associate of Nurse Practitioners, AZ Nursing Association, and Southern Arizona Nurse Practitioner Society.
Professionally, Sharon seeks to bring accessible, expert care to each of her patients.
In her spare time, she enjoys working out and spending time with her family.
Dr. Denise Link is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Educator, and Clinical Professor Emerita at Arizona State University Edson College of Nursing & Health Innovation. She has been a practicing WHNP since 1979 and is on staff in a primary care clinic embedded in a residential treatment center for women in recovery from substance use disorder. Dr. Link is President of the Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council, Chapter 9, Arizona Nurses Association and Member at Large on the AANP Fellows Executive Committee. She serves on the AANP Public Policy Committee, has held elected positions in state and national nursing organizations, two state boards of nursing, and ran for the legislature in Arizona. Dr. Link was an inaugural member of the Duke/Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program Advisory Board and is a department editor for The Journal for Nurse Practitioners. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and text books, and presented at state, regional, national, and international conferences about nurse-led health care, the nurse practitioner role, interdisciplinary education, health policy, and women’s health topics. Dr. Link is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Dr. Shelley Vaughn, DNP, FNP, is a proud United States Air Force Veteran. As a nurse, Dr. Vaughn has practiced in rural Arizona since 2005 and currently works for Gila Valley Clinic, Safford, Arizona providing full service family care.
Dr. Vaughn teaches full-time for the NAU Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Dr. Vaughn is current Vice-President of Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council, project director for Gila Valley Medical Projects, and on the Advanced Practice Committee of the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Dr. Dorothy J. Dunn is an Associate Professor from Northern Arizona University, College of Health and Human Services, School of Nursing in Flagstaff, Arizona. Her BSN is from Rhode Island College, Providence RI, MSN-family nurse practitioner from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, and PhD from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fl. She is triple board certified as a family nurse practitioner, advanced holistic nurse, and certified dementia practitioner. Dr. Dunn is the owner and founder of Dunn Family Wellness, LLC in Flagstaff, Arizona, offering comprehensive memory loss evaluations, treatment and recommendations for persons and their family who have a concern of memory loss and neurocognitive changes for the past 12 years. The American Association of Nurse Practitioner’s awarded her the Arizona State Award for NP Clinical Excellence. Northern Arizona University honored her for the Research and Creative Activity Award. Her research is focused on formal and informal rural caregivers of persons with dementia in Northern Arizona. She has earned an international reputation for Dunn’s Theory of Compassion Energy and has authored multiple publications and provided multiple regional, national, and international presentations. She serves as President of the Society of Rogerian Scholars and Editor of Visions: The Journal of Rogerian Nursing Science
Dr Bessie Burk is a family nurse practitioner at a community health center in central Arizona. She is the Director of medical services and supervises over 30 primary care providers of all types. She has presented courses on billing and coding in both Arizona and Hawaii. She is responsible for provider education at her clinic sites as well as adjunct faculty at Northern Arizona University. She represents all nurse practitioners in our state as the AANP state representative and health policy chair for AzNPC.
Dr. Danielle M Gilliam, PharmD, MPH is a SeniorObesity Medical Liaison (ML) with Novo Nordisk Inc.Dr Gilliam has thorough knowledge of cardiometabolic disease (e.g. obesity, diabetes, NASH) and the science that supports NNI products within those disease states.
Dr Gilliam attended Xavier University in New Orleans for her undergraduate studies in Chemistry and the University of Illinois Chicago for her Masterin Public Health Policy and Administration and Doctorate in Pharmacy. Her 20 years in the field of diabetes and obesity includes clinical, research and community experience. Dr Gilliam is certified in health disparities diabetes education, medical writing and editing. Sheis a certified lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
Dr. Gilliam has a strong commitment to her community. Dr Gilliam represents the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as the President of the Community Leadership Board Phoenix Chapter and as a member of Diversity Committee for the National ADA Chapter. She is the Arizona State Conference Health Chair for the NAACP and sits on the board for the Arizona Obesity Organization (AOO). She is also a member of The Obesity Society, Endocrine Society, Obesity Medicine Association,American Pharmacy Associationand Xavier Universityof Louisiana (XULA)Alumni Association.
Dr.Gilliam was awarded the Lily Hines-Marbley Advocacy Award by the American Diabetes Association Phoenix Chapter twice and the Arizona State Conference NAACP Committee Chair person Award in 2018.
Dr.Gilliam lives in Chandler, Arizona. She has two daughters. Jetaunhas does post-baccalaureateresearch at NIH/NIDDK. Her youngest daughter, Devin, is a junior studying sociology/pre-law. She enjoys jazz, red wine, traveling and cuddling with Isaac Charles, her toy poodle puppy.
Cris Anunciado is a resident of San Diego, CA. Cris completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at the Adventist University of the Philippines. She received her Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner and PhD at the University of San Diego, where she later served as adjunct faculty in the Doctoral of Nursing Practice Program.
Cris’ area of study focused on transition of care for diabetes patients across the care continuum. She has been involved in diabetes and cardiovascular areas for over 20 years serving as hospital educator, program coordinator, and nurse practitioner in the hospital, long-term care and outpatient settings. She has served as textbook chapter author, speaker, consultant, and advisory board member for various pharma and medical software industries. Cris has been a chapter/topic author – nursing textbooks, national speaker for AACE on hospital diabetes management. Cris is new to the pharma industry.
